No Wonder...
Ever wondered why there's so much fighting online? As a recent research study shows, while 80% of us send an email confident that the receiving party will understand the tone what's being said, only 50% of the time do they actually get it right (HT: Wired News). In other words, only half of the time will someone you send a comment to accurately interpret your tone. I guess emoticons are pretty useful after all.And in case you're wondering, the tone of this post is :-)

Why the heck are you screaming at me? Wouldn't it behoove you to make a post with a little more kindness??!?!?!
And yet, good writers, poets, etc., convey meaning simply through written text in a way that is more universally understood.
I guess that's what makes them *good* writers. :p
